For the first time in history of the Olympic Games the site name is used in logo.
On November, 30th on Red Square in Moscow vice-premiers Dmitry Kozak and Alexander Zhukov, the president of the IOC Jacques Rogge and the chairman of the IOC Coordination commission Jean-Claude Killy, the president of the Organizing committee «Sochi-2014» Dmitry Chernyshenko have officially introduced new brand and emblem of the XXII White Olympic Games, which will be used in all advertising campaigns within the next five years. The logo itself is the inscription Sochi.ru, where the date «2014» is reflected on the left, and Olympic rings are placed on the right. The reflection symbolises dual nature of Sochi, where the warm sea coast is close to high snow mountain peaks.
«Sochi-2014» team has created the logo, where it is clearly read the connection with the new generation, which has been growing in epoch of digital technologies, Jacques Rogge has noted.
Brand startup is accompanied by communication campaign «Sochi is the capital of the following winter Olympic Games» In its basis there is an idea of participation of each inhabitant of the country in the Games.
And a talisman of the Games will be chosen in 2011, three years prior to their beginning. «Now we have three variants a dolphin on skis, Snow Maiden, and also the Bear of 1980's to which we, probably, will return, but we will make it white, announced Dmitry Chernyshenko.
