Everything for the Olympic Games, everything for victory

9-10 (2011)
Viewed: 2032

The peak of building of sports objects and infrastructure falls on 2011-2012. Monthly, 10 million tons of building materials will be delivered to Sochi.

According to experts, for building of the Olympic objects and infrastructure, first of all highways and railways, it is required 120 million cubic meters of rubble. Nevertheless, its manufacture in SFD has made 35 million cubic meters in 2008, 25 million — in 2009. It is no wonder that rubble for the Olympic objects is now delivered from all Russia. Not so long ago its first party was delivered to the Sochi building sites from Abkhazia. Today the Russian-Abkhazian enterprise «Nerudkomleks» carries out deliveries on continuing basis, in average up to 20 trains with the Abkhazian rubble arrive to railway station Skuchra (Ochamchirsky area) every month. According to experts, in 2010 when the Olympic building entered its active phase, the rubble supply was limited first of all by resources of transport infrastructure. Therefore, it explains why the price for it has sharply raised lately. According to participants of the market, from 2004 to 2011 rubble cost has increased in 1,73 times — from 392,87 to 680,54 roubles for ton on the average.

In February-March rubble arrived at the price of 800-880 roubles per ton. «And it is still the good price. Delivery of rubble by train would cost for 5-7% more», — the interlocutor of the edition is sure. The price situation in the rubble market became a subject of attention of the president of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev. The chief of control management of the administration Konstantin Chuychenko informed that «strange» things happen to pricing on bulk materials: price for gravel-sand mix and rubble have been marked up from 360 to 800 roubles in Sochi. «That is going too far, after all, these goods cost 2-3 times cheaper in the whole country», — Chuychenko is indignant.

Suppliers of cement for the Olympic building — are all big players from the south. First of all, it is the Novorossiysk cement works, nearest to Sochi, which covertly, from the moment of the announcing Russia the holder of the Olympic Games-2014, have been completely reoriented to the needs of their capital. According to the managing director of analytical company CM Pro ltd Vladimir Guz, cumulative capacity of cement works in Krasnodar region makes 4,6 million tons (about 4 million of them belong to the leader of the market — «Novorostsement»). Though, in the prognostic plan of «Olympstroy» it is specified, that for erection of sports objects in Imeretinskaya lowland and Krasnaya Polyana, and also for building of road infrastructure in the Big Sochi it is required about 28 million tons of cement only in 2011. By builders' admission, now cement from Turkey, Armenia, Ukraine is delivered to Sochi in great volumes — this helps to hold the prices for it in a corridor $80-90 for ton. However, by 2012 at the expense of new factories and increase of capacities of the South Russian cement enterprises, productivity will grow at once up to 8,6 million: «Novorostsement» after the end of building of new factory will make 6 million tons, «Inteko» — 2,6 million tons.

Besides, in Ukrainian Crimea will appear «Altkom» factory (3,6 million tons) by the next year; part of its production will be also directed on the market of Krasnodar region. «Baselcement» (1,8 million tons) and «Lafarge Cement» (2 million tons) don't refuse to build new factories on Kuban.

According to the Russian Union of Metal and Steel Suppliers (RUMSS), the Olympic buildings will consume 2-2,5 million tons of metal and metal constructions up to 2013. The president of the union Alexander Romanov notices that for the last three years a number of companies-members of RUMSS opened by representative offices and industrial branches in Sochi, Krasnodar and Rostov. Moreover, many of them don't intend to limit themselves to metal trade. Traditionally, the big traffic of scrap metal passes through southern ports towards Turkey and Ukraine, metal-roll passes in the opposite direction. According to the analysts, the largest holdings have already intended to use this traffic for creation of large factories. Metal for Sochi objects is delivered also by Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Industrial Complex and «Severstal», for a long time cooperating with «Olympstroy».

Analysts note, that as at the building of Sochi objects various technologies are applied, and the Olympic sports arenas are going to be collapsible, brick consumption appeared to be less than it had been expected. Nevertheless, Olympic buildings requier much of it — 90-100 million pieces. As well as with metal, the nearest neighbors help with deliveries. Considerable volumes arrive from Southern Ukraine, in particular from factories of financial and industrial group «Altkom» (Donetsk). According to experts new large brick enterprises won't appear — almost all operating players had already time to increase capacities. In 2007 at «Slavyansky kirpich» factory (Slavyansky area of Krasnodar region) the new technological line by capacity of 20 million pieces of facing brick a year was opened. In 2008 the Markinsky brick-works (a city of Shakhty of the Rostov region) by capacity of 60 million pieces of facing brick a year, and in 2009 — «Slavyansky kirpich» ltd (the city of Slavyansk-on-Kuban of Krasnodar region) by capacity of 120 million pieces of aerated brick a year are put into operation. Taking aim at the Sochi buildings, works on erection of two objects of brick branch in the South of Russia — ceramic brick manufacture in Semikarakorsky area of the Rostov region (cost of the project 110 million roubles) and brick-works in Prokhladnensky area of Kabardino-Balkaria (1,1 billion roubles) are coming to the end today.

Building materials for the Olympic Games will be checked up for radiation

«I order to the heads of departments of Federal service on customers' rights protection and human well-being surveillance in subjects of the Russian Federation and in railway transportation to provide compliance with the requirements of the sanitary legislation at carrying out of sanitary-and-epidemiologic examination, registration and delivery of radiation researches reports on imported equipment, building materials, mineral raw materials and conStructions for building of the Olympic objects» — is told in the order of the main State health officer of the Russian Federation Gennady Onishchenko.

Federal service departments are also entrusted to exchange information on legal bodies and the individual businessmen importing equipment and building materials into Sochi with cuStoms bodies. Control over goods traffics of building materials and constructions through frontier and railway check points is assigned to the chiefs of the department of Federal service on railway transportation and Krasnodar region department.
