We'll stand up with might and main

Not long ago the Olympic Games especially The White Olympic Games were considered a curse to the state budget and were held with no encouragement of common people. International Olympic Committee had to adduce a lot of arguments to persuade welldoing countries to organize another Olympics at their place.
The same situation was with the White Olympic Games in 1976 which had to take place in Denver, USA. However its authorities refused to conduct the Games, alleged the results of referendum in state of Colorado in1972. Then IOC officers persuaded to conduct the Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria. The fathers of the city «hit» by The Winter competitions in the year of 1964 calculated correctly that the sports facilities hadn't gone out of date and their modernization would be cheap enough. That is why they accepted it. In 1980 authorities of American Lake Placid couldn't avoid organizing the Olympics and decided to do without classical Olympic village. Sportsmen were placed in a junior penitentiary which was being built, behind real prison bars. It was quite obvious the Americans wanted to get off cheap. And they did, spending only 363 million dollars. In 1984 the organization of the Olympics in Sarajevo made up the official sum of 200 million dollars. There was a «Social contract on financing the Olympics from the funds of citizens» in Yugoslavia.
Experienced citizens of the megalopolis voted categorically against financing the Olympics from funds of the local budget and sponsors had to resort to private capital for the first time. The first commercial Winter Olympics were held in Calgary, Canada. The government decided not to be lavish and at first place spent money on building a new television centre. Jean Chretien, prime minister at that period, didn't want to disclose the real sum of charges mentioning the amount of 525 million dollars. According to his words the Olympics «fully covered the costs and brought profit» of 1.5 million dollars. The sponsors of the Games in 1992 in Albertville, France, took also the way of Innsbruck. Being already in use athletic facilities and the Alp resort infrastructure were involved to conduct the competitions. As a result they could reduce expenses on the Olympic Games in comparison with Canada to 450 million dollars and make French winter resorts popular and bring them to the level of traditional Swiss and Austrian ones. The next Olympic Games in 1994 suffered from the reform of IOC which decided to separate The Winter and Summer competitions and hold them in different time. There was none who would like to organize the Olympics in such a short period; therefore IOC was ready to any privilege and conditions for candidates. The only candidate was Norway which was looking forward to see its resorts in the number of sport Mecca. To achieve the aim Lillehammer was proposed. The most part of its costs on athletic facilities was paid by IOC. Sponsors announced the sum of charges of 500 million dollars of tourists.
As for the Olympics in 1998 Nagano, Japan the government wrote off more than 1 billion on the Olympic Games having reconstructed all road infrastructures actually. The total spent sum on the Olympic Games was less than 2 billions; meanwhile they officially announced the pure income of the Games 37 million dollars.
The Games in 2002 in Salt Lake City, USA stuck in people's memory as the most scandalous, because of handing gold medals duplicate to Canadian skaters at «public request», stimulant disclosure, sportsmens room search, annulment of medals, etc. Nevertheless, such political situation brought the sponsors pure income of 100 million dollars. The Games in Turin, Italy, probably, were the most commercially planned. Already in January, 2006 it was announced that 63 companies were the sponsors of the Olympics. Italian advertisers spent 271.5 million Euro, IOC top partners contributed 130 million Euro. Turin accepted more than 6 million of tourists, who spent together with sponsors about 268 million Euro (pure income), meanwhile the Olympic Games costs made
It is assumed that the Games in 2010 in Vancouver, Canada, will cost the government 2.5 billion dollars. This sum besides other charges included
